What is a raw foods diet?
A raw foods diet is made up of fresh, whole, unrefined, living, plant-based foods: fruits, vegetables, leafy greens, nuts, and seeds, which are consumed in their natural state, without cooking or steaming. People who adopt this diet are often referred to as "raw fooders" or "raw vegans."
What are the benefits of eating a raw diet?
The first benefit is that you stop abusing your body each meal with toxic residue that it must deal with, leaving it free to cleanse and heal itself. Next, the proper raw diet eliminates constipation, and the transit time of waste matter shortens to 24 hours or less, avoiding the buildup of toxemia from the recycling of toxins from the colon. Most people on the standard American diet experience transit times of 72 hours or more, during which time their food ferments and putrefies. The resulting foul gas and unpleasant smelling feces highlight the fact that fermentation and putrefaction are taking place in the colon.
How Can I Get Enough Protein On Raw Till 4 Diet?
You only need to get 10% of your total daily calories in the form of protein. All plants, fruits, vegetables have protein. Some have quite a bit, % wise. For example, my favorite green, Spinach, has 2.6 grams of protein in 3 cups of spinach. I add that to a smoothie and you don’t even know you’re eating your veggies!
A lot of people love watermelon and eat a whole one as a meal. Guess what, 28 grams of protein in one medium sized watermelon. We tend to eat a lot of bananas, and each medium banana contains 1.3 grams of protein.
So don’t stress about not eating enough protein. You will have no trouble getting the correct amount on a daily basis.
Why do people 'fail' on rawtill4 lifestyle?
You’ll see many who fail on the Raw Till 4 program who claim they are SO tired and run down, and ultra cranky, and just can’t think clearly. The likely cause is they don’t eat ENOUGH calories. When you eat real, raw, whole foods, you need to eat a lot of volume to get sufficient calories. You have to use a Jedi mind trick to get over that hurdle. You MUST eat A LOT of raw, whole foods to get enough calories. I can’t stress this enough!
I’m still hungry after eating just fruit, what do I do?
Eat more fruit! It is really good for you, and calorie for calorie, the nutrition can’t be beat. As the morning goes on, switch to bananas, dates, and dried fruit if needed.
I am diabetic, isn’t that a lot of sugar!?
I am not a doctor, as always follow their advise, but let me share a few concepts to look into. First, a whole raw fruit eaten in its pure unaltered state is a balanced food with carbohydrate, protein and fiber. Fruit is most “dangerous” to diabetics when it has been processed, preserved, juiced, or heated because one or more of the natural components have been altered, making it potentially unbalanced and unhealthy. Secondly, there are many fruits to choose from. It is easy to find charts and lists online that will give you guidelines as to which fruits are higher than others in sugar or their “glycemic index”.
When I am done eating fruit, how long should I wait to eat other foods?
Try to wait 20-30 minutes if possible for optimal cleansing benefits of eating the fruits alone.
I Am So Bloated Eating Raw Till 4, What Can I do?
Make sure you are drinking A LOT of water throughout the day. And make sure you get some exercise in, even if just a brisk walk for 30 minutes. That should get you feeling better in no time.
I Thought High Carb Diets Like Raw Till 4 Cause Weight Gain?
It sure can! But it is only temporary. Your body will become used to the extra calories and adjust it’s metabolism to process this new caloric intake. As Jon Fergus stated so well, “short term weight gain on this lifestyle is basically a healing process and a collection of bodily adjustments”
Where do you get your Calcium?
THE SAME PLACE THE FUCKING COW GETS IT FROM!! Plants. Most people are of the opinion that calcium is only found in milk and dairy products. Pretty easy to debunk this one, I have mentioned it before previously, why would you want to get your vitamins and minerals when they have been filtered through a cows body? You wouldn’t fancy hippo milk, rhino milk, camel milk or gorilla milk, so why are you so in love with cow tits? Probably all the mainstream dairy adverts you have been exposed to since birth, but wake up and start smashing in the plants. Kale, broccoli, oranges, dates, beans the list goes on and on, it’s difficult to not get enough calcium if you are eating enough calories.
